Section 8 Housing Guide
The Section 8 program helps millions of low-income families and individuals find safe and sanitary housing at an affordable cost. Section 8 allows participants to exchange housing vouchers for a discount on their rental cost. To qualify, you must meet program requirements related to income, family size and financial need. You can apply for housing assistance through local Public Housing Authorities (PHAs), which are located throughout the United States.
